Has anyone changed the cam shaft gaskets in lids for 97 pontiac grand am 4 cyl.?

Is it a tree single or double cam camshaft or is not even a camshaft at all. Just replaced a head gasket in my dads 93 Grand Am SE 2.3 liters with 138 CAM 3 quad vin individual carriers. He had removed the front passenger tire, then I had to remove the engine mounts. Then had to remove the exhaust and intake along the throttle cables and vacuum lines. Then the alternator and air conditioning pump, then alt bracket and air pump as well as the power steering pump. Then had to remove bottom bracket pulley below the engine and engine stand off elevator access to the deck time. He took off his cap and took time out Chain After turning the crank and cam to align the TDC. Then remove the cam gear to screws that secure the access of the cam cover. There were two bolts here and several in the top that can be undone w / o taking anything out off the road. Remove cover upper cam access. Remove the two screws in time behind the gear to remove the whole entire timing gear. Hope this helps. As I said, this was for my dads car but there are some more details as mining cables and oil filler tube and fuel injectors had to be removed.
